Google Earth Tips

Here is another great tip from our last presenter at our Civil 3D User Group meeting on how to get the Google Earth image in color.

Here are the instructions ;
  1. Bring in the image as you normally would, at this point it is black and white
  2. In google earth, go to file>save>save image and save the image to a place on your hard drive
  3. In Civil 3D, type “xref” at the command line and change the path of the image to the color image on the hard drive
  4. Exit out of xref manager, type in “regen” at the command line and the image should now be in color
